The other night we encountered some folks who disagree with the views on this site. That is great - spirited debate should be what this is all about. However it is noteworthy as to their way of dealing with all of this. The conversation starts with "your numbers are bull@#$%" to which the we respond " which numbers do are you referring to?" This is met with a non-answer.
Once and for all here is the deal - every number quoted on this site comes from either the village's own Audited Financial Report (AFR) posted on the state comptroller's website or from a village budget document . We take great care to try and get it right and will from now on cite our specific sources when we refer to numbers.
